We can’t wait to welcome our new and returning students to campus this week.  

To help you settle in, we, along with , have a packed schedule of welcome activities for you to enjoy.

September 

Thursday 21  

Welcome Abroad 
Campus Centre 
1-3pm 

Join DSU for an afternoon of games, music and food to celebrate moving to England to study at Ð԰ɵç̨. 

Saturday 23 and Sunday 24  

Welcome Weekend  
Mill Lane 
11am - 4pm 

From 11am, the campus will come alive with a festival atmosphere and our staff will be on-hand to answer your burning questions on everything Ð԰ɵç̨, from your support services to our exciting employability opportunities.  

Sunday 24 

Pool Tournament 
Campus Centre 
5pm – 1am  

Get ready for the ultimate showdown at the DSU pool tournament. Claim the title of Pool Tournament Champion and win £50 in vouchers. 

Monday 25 
 
Rooftop Yoga 
The Terrace, Vijay Patel Building 
9-10am 
 
Join the SU on the Vijay Patel Building terrace for a morning of Yoga with the best view on Campus. 

Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 

Freshers’ Fair 
Mill Lane 
10am - 4pm 

Get yourself down to the centre of campus where the university will come alive with the biggest festival atmosphere of the year.  You’ll be able to sign up to societies and sports clubs, grab freebies from a range of brands, enter competitions and more.

Monday 2 

Ultimate Pub Quiz with Shaun Wallace 
DSU Lounge, Campus Centre 
6-11pm 

Prepare for an electrifying evening of intellect and nail-biting challenges as The Chase's Dark Destroyer, Shaun Wallace, will test your knowledge across a myriad of categories. 

Tuesday 3  

Karaoke Night 
DSU Lounge, Campus Centre 
6-11pm 

Warm up your vocal cords and get ready to sing the night away! 

Ð԰ɵç̨active and Ð԰ɵç̨sport will also be hosting fun activities and taster sessions throughout the week. You can take part in UV Zumba, UV Dodgeball, Cheerleading, Rugby and more.

Low Sensory Hours 

To ensure that all students have a positive experience at Ð԰ɵç̨, we’ll be hosting low sensory hours to ensure guests who experience sensory overload or sensory sensitivity feel comfortable.    

We’ll be reducing noise levels, adjusting any harsh lighting, providing quiet zones and doing all we can to make sure students can enjoy the great events on offer and feel comfortable.
